One hand placing a red heart into a pair of open hands.

Serving others is a great way to find meaning in life and feel like you are making a difference. The Estates 3Eighty Blog invites you to serve others with small and simple acts. Read on to get ideas for how you can serve others in our apartment community, around Little Elm, and beyond.

Write a thank you note. Find a family member, coworker, or friend who may need a pick-me-up. Let them know how much you appreciate them.

Do yard work for a neighbor. Do you notice that someone may need help with their yard work in the neighborhood? Ask politely if you can serve them, but don’t be offended if they decline.

Donate blood. Donating blood is a great way to serve others. It’s something that doesn't take very long but that saves lives.

Give a gift card. If you have a friend who is working hard who may need a break, give them a gift card for dinner. It’ll be a great way to let them get out and enjoy a night on the town.

Make blankets. Make quilts or tie flannel blankets for those in need. Make them for a local hospital, homeless shelter, or other charity that accepts blankets. Make sure to check with the organization to get the go-ahead before making them. You can also simply make them for friends or neighbors for a nice gesture!

Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Call a nearby shelter, food pantry, or other organization to see if you can volunteer and serve those in our community.

Become CPR certified. It may not seem like a direct way of serving someone, but being prepared can potentially save a life.
